Fruit crumble
A simple crumble, suitable for most slightly sour fruits (such as rhubarb, apples, gooseberries and so on), best served with custard or ice cream.

Ingredients
- 450 g fruit
- 75 g sugar
- 75 g butter
- 175 g flour
- 50 g caster sugar
Instructions
- Place fruit in an overnproof dish with the sugar and a little water. Cover and bake for 30 minutes at 180 °C.
- Rub butter and flour together until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs. Stir in the caster sugar.
- Once the fruit has softened, add the crumble on top and smooth down.
- Bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown on top at 180 °C. Serve with ice cream or custard.
